  • Dec. 14th, 2008 at 6:54 PM

Thankfully the sun came out long enough for the weekend.

I have posted before about one of our (Anthony & I) favourite walking spots in Sydney. Bronte to Bondi beach.

Here are some photos that Anthony took today at Bronte Beach  ( Sunday).

Australia - (the movie)

Well I havent been to the cinema for what feels like around 12months or so, mainly because nothing really has appealed to me - even when I felt like going there was just nothing worth watching it seemed like more of typical Hollywood churned out same, old same old.

But since I have had this week off work I thought I would go and see this movie "Australia" which Im sure you have all heard of.

I went in not really knowing whether I would like it or not, as the advertisements for it seemed pretty dull, and there were mixed reviews but something was compelling me to see it, maybe the title or it could simply be that Hugh Jackman is in it, and I had just watched one of the XMEN movies on tv last week which reminded me how gorgeous..... I mean talented he is. ;)

Anyway, I wont spoil it for anyone that is wanting to see the film. But I can say I LOVE LOVE LOVED IT!

It was funny, intense, very emotional, (I cried hmmn about 3 times in it which is massive for me) amd despite what some reviewers said about Nicole Kidmans acting, I thought they couldn't have been more wrong about that, she was excellent in it as were all the actors  and seeing the Australian landscape in the manner that they filmed it - places that are so remote and yet so breathtaking just made it divine to experience on the big screen and makes me appreciate even more so the amazing country that I live in.

And even though the film is 3 hours long, that 3 hours went so fast.!

it was really a brilliant film and I did not expect it to be that good!

So if you were thinking of maybe seeing it but still not sure I highly recommend it!
