Do not attempt painting when you are tired have been working in an office full time for the past month.
I just had to get this one off my chest today, feeling a little frustrated. I agreed to work full time for the whole of November to cover for the fact that we are down staff. I was really wanting to paint but I guess I need time to refocus and regain my creative energy and since this small painting that I attempted hadn't turned out so well I think I might wait till I am back to my usual part time work hours to start painting again. ( which will hopefully be within a couple of weeks.)
I decided I would post the painting anyway but only here on LJ, its only 5" x 7" canvas which is tiny as I usually paint on 16' x 20" or thereabouts
and it also didnt photogrpah very well either.
I started my etsy store back in Feb this year, but I didn't do much with it until about August.
My newest item is my painting "Earth Sprites" as a framed ACEO edition ( see pics added here)...and.... I have 15 ACEO editions now for sale there as well as some other prints and items made from my art that I am testing out selling. I will be adding more products as I sample them from suppliers.

Well its good to be posting some new art, I have some time off work at the moment (paid leave) which is always nice, and I had been craving starting a new painting.
I finished this one tonight. With the weather getting a bit warmer over here in Australia, I wanted to paint something with a summery feel to it. Also I love turquoise its one of my favourite colours and pink seems to go well with it and for this painting I knew what colours I wanted to use from the time I had the sketch on the canvas, which I thought by the way that was a real blessing as choosing colours is sometimes the hardest part of a painting I find.

Edit: I wanted to put together a mermaid calendar also but ran out of time, I might get around to it before it gets too late in the year.

Well... after some time of organising materials and really having to be very organised :) I have finally set up an ETSY shop to sell some of my products! So I am feeling a bit excited and yet daunted!
